Welcome to Once Upon An Artisan, where timeless craftsmanship and heartfelt storytelling converge. My journey with this exquisite venture began over a year ago during a campaign shoot, where I first encountered the sublime artistry of these buttery soft alpaca knits. Each piece, hand-woven with love and intention, resonated deeply with me, sparking a connection that would ultimately lead me here.
Life often guides us toward unexpected paths, and it was during a bustling October that an opportunity emerged. An email from Kari, the visionary founder of Once Upon An Artisan, announced her decision to pass on her beloved creation.
The acceptance of my offer marked a transformative moment, one fueled by intuition and a commitment to uphold the brand's legacy.
Since establishment in 2015, Once Upon An Artisan has been dedicated to sourcing the highest-quality alpaca fiber, endemic to the Andean region and renowned as one of the most sustainable fibers in the world. Recently, OUA have expanded offerings to include pieces crafted from organic-certified Peruvian cotton and Andean highland wool. Our dedication to exceptional materials and sustainability remains at the core of our mission. To uphold this commitment, we prioritize traceable materials and exclusively partner with suppliers who share our values.

Our Story, Our Promise
I live in a lovely little coastal town, just south of Hobart. A mother to two extraordinary little humans, Finley 8 and Roux 5. A wife and partner of 17 years to the most beautiful man, James. For me, Tasmania is home. Its wild yet tender character is the perfect soil to plant and grow the adventures of my own family. While I love traveling the world, my heart feels fullest when I am home. My favourite thing in the world is being a Mother. My most significant achievement to date is my children. They inspire me every single day by showing me the world through their joy, play and wonder. Motherhood returns me home to my deepest authenticity.
As a photographer, my work has always been about connection and capturing the essence of the moment. This venture harmonizes with my creative journey, allowing for a seamless flow of inspiration and artistry.
