Women We Admire: Meghan Powell
In ‘women we admire’, we engage in conversations with remarkable individuals who inspire us by their approach to life and their authenticity. These are women whose values resonate with ours, and we share their stories with the hope that they inspire you too.
This time, we spoke with Meghan Powell, who has collaborated with OUAA a couple of times already.
She had never modelled before; I approached her one day and asked her to do some photos, and she kindly accepted. We always share good laughs and conversations. Meghan is naturally gorgeous and her tranquil presence evokes a sense of serenity. enjoy this small insight into her life.
I am…
This is a tough question! it depends on the day, i suppose. I recently got married, so now i am a wife. I am a dog mum to a spunky rescue hound. I am an american who grew up in the rugged mountains of montana, and who now finds herself calling the wild coastline of lutruwita/tasmania home.
I am a yoga practitioner, student, and teacher. A lover of the devotional and explorer of the internal landscape. I am a psychology student. And an amateur sourdough bread baker.
What inspires/ drives you in life
Nature inspires me. my relationships inspire me. Community inspires me.
What is/are your passion/s
I am passionate about living a life aligned with nature, caring for each other, spiritual intimacy, and good food.
Where are you the happiest (a place, a moment, etc)
In the ocean or on a mountain.
Your top 3 values
Tenderness, honesty, and sincerity.
What are you reading at the moment and /or what’s your favourite book.
Right now, my favourite book is this is happiness by Nial williams. But my favourite book to re-read and falling apart from travelling with me everywhere is women who run with the wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés.
One thing you love from ouaa and your favourite knit.
My maya cardigan is a staple in my wardrobe! It feels so good to wear, not just because it’s luscious and soft but because of the conscious commitment behind it to bring positive change.
Megan offers classes and mentoring, at her business ashtanga dispatch. Follow her journey on instagram.
